03 · A two-company problem

Flitter, claims × Norauto

A claim handled out of network costs more and generates more calls. Sending customers to a partner meant two companies, two systems, one driver in the middle.

01The problemLe problème

At a broker, a claim has two outcomes. At a partner garage, intake is framed, information flows, the cost is under control. At the customer’s own garage, everything takes longer: more calls to customer support, a file handled by hand, a higher cost for the company.

Flitter was losing money out of network. And the redirection to partners, as it existed, wasn’t redirecting many people.

[the starting figure: what share of claims went out of network, and what it cost]

02What it really wasCe que c’était vraiment

The reflex would have been to “push” the network harder: a message, an incentive, a list of garages. But the customer wasn’t refusing the partner. They were leaving the flow, because at the moment they declared their claim, there was nothing to book. They had to go elsewhere, to another site, with other information to type in again.

The real problem wasn’t convincing. It was fitting two companies into a single gesture: the declaration at Flitter, the appointment at the partner, without the customer having to know where one ends and the other begins.

03Where the answers wereOù était l’information

Customer support had the numbers: what an out-of-network claim cost, in calls and in handling time.

The partner had its own booking tool, with its logic, its fields, its slots. It had to be understood before drawing anything on the Flitter side.

Engineers on both sides defined what the APIs allowed: which data could move from one system to the other, in which direction, and at what point in the flow.

[to confirm: the customers, if there were interviews or feedback on the old flow]

04The constraintsLes contraintes

  • Two companies, two interfaces, two databases, and a single driver who must see only one flow.
  • Partner APIs with their limits: [which ones, precisely].
  • A customer’s data can’t be shared just any way: [the exact frame set by legal].

06The solutionLa solution

The appointment is booked from the claim declaration, in the customer area. The customer describes their claim, gets offered a slot at a partner, and takes it without leaving the page.

Data flows both ways. The partner receives what the workshop needs for intake; the customer has nothing to type in again; Flitter keeps a record of the appointment in the file.

[what happens when no slot works, or when the partner is too far away]
